Prep Time: 35 minutes + chilling // Bake: 10 min per batch // Makes approximately 2 dozen

  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package semisweet chocolate chips (12 ounces)

  1. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In a small bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt and gradually add into butter mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
  2. Using a spoon, shape approximately 1/4 cup of dough into balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheets. If you have time, cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°. If you refrigerated dough, allow it to come to room temperature before baking.
  4. Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
