On a cool October day, nothing beats a mug of hot chocolate. Put a twist on this classic cold-weather drink by setting out a variety of toppings. While this crockpot version requires some time, you can always use your favorite instant cocoa mix or cocoa recipe!

Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 20 ounces chopped semi-sweet or dark chocolate
  • 10 cups whole milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Directions

  1. Add cocoa powder to a bowl and mix with hot water using a whisk until combined
  2. In a large crockpot, add cocoa mixture, chopped chocolate, heavy cream, milk, evaporated milk, and salt.
  3. Cook the hot chocolate on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours. Stir the hot chocolate every hour to keep the chocolate from settling on the bottom.
  4. Keep warm and serve!
